Although the days of the Happy Hour are gone in Ireland, its comforting to see (or not..) that our colleagues in the USA have picked up our slack when it comes to cut price drinks.
Sign outside a bar:
HAPPY HOUR! 3PM-9PM!
Now that’s an Irish hour if ever I heard of one! Is this a real sign of the American Recession and the new tactics needed to populate the bars?

This isn’t something new in America, lots of bars have happy hour and it is usually longer than an actual hour. Same idea as ‘ladies night’ and other promotions.

I’ve seen happy hours in Germany for bakeries, dry cleaners and tanning salons ! But 6 hours is almost a whole happy day !

Most happy hours here in upstate New York go from 3 or 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. The bar across the street from me even has Happy Hour on Fridays from 2p.m. to 9p.m.
