Now that grabbed your attention, didn’t it? While visiting New York, I came across a sign on the cash register in a bar, that said: “If for some reason you are not given a receipt for your purchase, then your order is on us”
Why not involve your customer in the control procedures in your business? After all, if they have the chance of a free meal or drink, then I guarantee you will have some very eagle eyed customers come out of the woodwork. When staff know that the customer is as much a part of the control system as the manager, then it reduces their ability to defraud you of cash at the register. Its a simple idea that could save you money! And you’ll soon find out which staff are not giving receipts.
